One structure and common language can move with practitioners into the courses, programs, conversations, and other settings where they already support students. Students encounter a more recognizable practice across those settings, while faculty and staff do not have to rely on disconnected approaches or recreate the practice each time.
Professional development continues beyond the initial session through the Staff Hub, Practice Guides, planning resources, and facilitation support as practitioners begin using STARR+ and new questions emerge.
Like B Optimal’s other Learning Practice Programs, STARR+ is informed by the Metacognitive Moves System™, a shared foundation for making important forms of learning work more visible, distinguishable, and usable.
STARR+ does not need its own separate course, workshop, office, or program. Practitioners can incorporate the practice into the work they already do with students.
